Free software for illustrators or digital artists that are just starting out.

(Artwork description: I made this in adobe draw and used an overlay on top of it -- Read the post for more info)

If you are an artist exploring the world of digital art for the first time, your first venture would be to find out software that is compatible with your style of art or easy to use. Most praised software you will see are paid but there are so many more that give almost the same freedom and tools for free which is a win-win. Following are listed mobile or desktop software that you can try out for free.

Mobile Software
1. Adobe Draw
Adobe draw is a free mobile version of adobe illustrator. It's great for vector art, illustration and digital painting. It gives four basic brush choices, which is not enough but gets the work done regardless. Their brushes are harder than the brushes in adobe draw (next in the list), thus making them more suitable for vector art.

2. Adobe draw
Adobe draw is mobile version of adobe Photoshop except this one is free. It gives the same brush choices as Photoshop with a super user-friendly interface. You can also customize the size of your drawing or workplace. It's absolutely brilliant with digital painting.

3. Medibang Paint Pro

Medibang is the holy grail of free drawing software. It gives you freedom of choice where adobe software lack -- since after all, adobe is just being generous with the free mobile apps that of course won't give all the tools their paid ones do. BUT, medibang does give all those tools regardless.

Desktop software
1. Gravit Designer

There are very few desktop software that provide art tools for free but gravit designer just stands out in the lot. It's great for vector art, maybe not as much for digital art and it has all the tools you could possibly want.

2. Paint 3D

Lastly, one of the very cool free software for desktop I found was Paint 3D. It has a lot of unique and basic tools that can help you create art of several styles. It also has the tools to create 3D vector art along with digital paintings which most software don't have (for free that is).
